I just remembered that my 8th grade English teacher had us listen to and analyze The Rising (the song, that is) and find examples of similes and metaphors. I remember similes just by the one example of “A dream of life comes to me/Like a catfish dancing on the end of the line”.
Best lesson plan that I ever experienced. Bruce should know that his music made me a better writer because of this.
